VOILà! FREE MP3'S ABOUND.
This October will see the release of Luniculaire, a White Hinterland EP of 5 songs all performed in French. We are psyched to share with you the first peek at "Chant De Grillon," one of two new originals on the EP. See below for the link.
In addition to the originals, there are covers of songs by Serge Gainsbourg, Francoise Hardy, and Brigitte Fontaine--three impossibly cool artists with seriously intimidating catalogs of gorgeous music. We approached each one with a sort of playful curiosity, and hope you'll do the same.
The EP really was a band effort--featuring Casey, Matt, Shawn and several other gifted friends: Alexis Gideon (guitar), Dave Depper (bass), Mary Sutton (accordian & violin), and Adam Selzer (engingeering).
Also, today Daytrotter posted a session WH recorded featuring four songs off of Phylactery Factory. It's important to mention that playing with Casey that evening were Shawn & Matt, without whom these songs would not sound nearly as lush or lovely. It was recorded late in the evening, around midnight, and everyone was feeling a bit spooked. In spite of this, Sean Moeller and the folks at Daytrotter once again made us feel quite at home. Thank you Daytrotter!
Last but not least, approaching fast is the European Tour. Joining Matt & Casey on the road will be Davis L. Hooker of ...Worms, The Watery Graves, and Adrian Orange & Her Band. For those of you that live in Portland, you can see them play this week at Valentines (9/21) and Holocene (9/25). For more info, pay a visit to myspace.
